And again… I had three very good days in Munich at conference. Very good conversations, lots of presentations and fun too.

Agile BBQ
Sometimes strange things could be nice too – I’ve got an invitation from a consulting company to join an evening where practices for IT service management should be applied on the example of ‘grilling a steak’. Sounds funny. Service management is not necessarily my topic but meat in combination with fire -of course- is.
JBoss EAP 6/7 Administration and Development Training Days
…just basics. I believe my first encounter with JBoss as application server was in 2003 and most projects before where done with Apaches Tomcat. Nearly one or two years later – and with a little bit more experience with Java Enterprise – the JBoss system became the preferred app server by me and the tool of choice (in cases where I’ve got the choice).

I’m on my way to the RoadShow and expecting much fun with some other guys working together. In some aspects the current openshift is still a little bit confusing (compared against v2) and not in productive use (here). So I’ll hope to get some nice inputs and discussions at the event.
ITIL® Foundation Certification passed
Today I’ve got my results of the ITIL® Foundation exams after three days of training (more or less ;-)). Someone told me it improves my understanding of IT service management but I fear the upcoming paperwork 😉
Back from WJAX 2017
And as always three very nice and helpful days for me. Learned a lot, really 😉 And it just started with the finger in the wound (as it should be). The first keynote “It’s a small world afterall” was held by Sander Hoogendorn and is (fortunatly) available online
coderetreat @ gameduell
What a sunny saturday morning! Just leave the family at home, take the bike and go to … a coderetreat! What? I’ve got the invitation to “work” this saturday (april fools day) from a friend some weeks ago and I must say I don’t regret it. The definition of a coderetreat is:
Coderetreat is a day-long, intensive practice event, focusing on the fundamentals of software development and design.coderetreat.org
At 9 o’clock nearly 20 developers met in the (really nice) offices of a game company in Berlin to start practicing with just one goal: implementing the “Pacman”. Continue reading “coderetreat @ gameduell”

Windows 10 update #2
Windows begs utterly for an upgrade on my Dell Inspiron 2330 and I thought that everybody should get a second chance. A short look at the Dell support page stated the full compatibility with Windows 10 – so I should be happy with an upgrade. Again, after hours the machine restarted, I saw the desktop and finally the INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR was gone. But I wasn’t happy. The Inspiron has two internal graphic options – either it could run on Intels HD or it could use as second option an ATI Radeon graphic card. Windows 8.1 was able to (automatically) switch between, the new Windows 10 was not. Maybe I forgot to install Dells driver package? No! Maybe I should use the original ATI drivers? Didn’t work too. The MS fallback driver? Again, same result.
Reinstalled 8.1
Greetings from WJAX2015 Munich
Still alive and currently at the developer conference in Munich. I’m listening to a presentation from Stefan Zörner about software architecture documentation.
